Sacramento Regional Fire Diversity Committee
The Sacramento Regional Diversity Committee (SRDC) is a standing committee of the Sacramento County Fire Chiefs Association.
The SRDC was organized to develop and support programs, policies, and procedures that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the fire service throughout the Sacramento Region (see Committee Charter).
The SRDC meets once a month and includes representatives from:
- Participating Fire Departments/Jurisdictions,
- Areas within a Fire Jurisdiction (e.g., the Dispatch Center Personnel, Admin., etc.),
- Local and Statewide training organizations (e.g., the California Joint Apprenticeship Committee, Cal-JAC),
- Local and Statewide training organizations (e.g., the California Joint Apprenticeship Committee, Cal-JAC),
- Educational Institutions (e.g., the Los Rios Community College District),
- Community Service and Civil Rights Organizations as approved by the SRDC, and

- The Public
The SRDC acknowledges the past difficulty of aspiring candidates for a Firefighter career to find the entry level requirements and qualifications for the various Fire Jurisdictions. As a result, the SRDC is committed to:
- Providing and disseminating the hiring requirements of the various Fire Jurisdictions,
- Adhering to a policy of transparency in hiring,
- Recruiting in a consistent manner,
- Offering a fair employment opportunity, and
- Ensuring equity and inclusion in the process.
